Stephen Hall and IN.form

SH studied Industrial Design at Liverpool College of Art and joined Robert Heritage in 1972 as assistant in his studio. (Bob became Professor of Furniture Design at the Royal College of Art in 1974 - see Robert Heritage archive). SH became a director of the consultancy mainly designing architectural products - furniture, lighting and building systems - which won a number of design awards. SH was made a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers.

In 1984 SH set up a product design consultancy. Experience with the early adoption of computer aided design led to projects in interface design for CDs, touch screen information terminals and ATMs.

In 1999 the software and internet part of the business was sold to Icon Medialab. Since then SH has continued to work under the IN.form banner on product and lighting design and the development of the i-Sho software application in collaboration with other designers, architects engineers and manufacturers.
